OVERVIEW
The
Wranglerettes are a nationally recognized, award-winning
dance team, formed in September 2008 by the dance
studio at EveryBody Fits to prepare all levels of dancers
grades 5th - 9th aspiring to one day be on JV and Varsity Drill
Teams. Most members are anticipated to tryout for their respective
teams once they reach the appropriate age, thus the Wranglerettes
team prides itself on being the ultimate resource to prepare future
high school drill team members.
The
team performs at a variety of venues throughout Dallas/Fort-Worth
including (but not limited to) parades, community service events,
and competes in the spring at several local Drill Team Competitions.
WHAT
MAKES US DIFFERENT?
The
Wranglerette team differs from any other program in the area in
that we are not only providing young dancers the opportunity to
learn the art of dance but we provide them with a social atmosphere
that is vital for all twee & teen girls. All members will
have the option to bond with other members at several team building/social
events throughout the year. Members will also serve as "big
Sisters" to the Dazzlers members. As Big sisters, the Wranglerettes
will have the opportunity to mentor their younger sis through
socials and joint performances.
By
being a member of the team, opportunities are given to each dancer
to train in small groups and even 1-on-1 with current high school
drill team members. In these training sessions, participants receive
one-on-one feedback from the instructors and provide helpful hints
for auditions. Additionally, the Wranglerettes choreographer
is a former Kilgore College Rangerette, which is the first and
most famous drill team in the nation! Thus, by being a Wranglerette,
each member truly receives the ideal training to prepare them
for a high school team.
The
Wranglerettes team also provides parents the opportunity to watch
their dancer perform at numerous events throughout the year (versus
just one year-end Recital). Additionally, the cost of being a
Wranglerette is extremely cost-effective and it provides you and
your daughter with a lifetime of memories.
BASIC
INFORMATION
Purpose:
Through participation, the Wranglerettes will promote good sportsmanship
and team unity. The Wranglerette organization will work to develop
strong dance and performance skills in each of its members through
music and dance appreciation. All members will acquire time management
skills, commitment, and respect for one another.
Team
Member Requirements:
All
Wranglerettes are required to attend rehearsal from August 09
- May 10. Rehearsal will be held on TBD at the
dance studio at Everybody Fits. Additionally, it is required
that all Wranglerettes take one ballet and one jazz class at the
appropriate level along with dance conditioning and a wild card
class of their choosing (ie: Hip-Hop, Tap, Leaps & Turns,
Drill Prep, etc.). These classes must be taken at
the dance studio at EveryBody Fits unless approved otherwise.
It
is asked that all Wranglerettes stay on the team from May 2009
- June 2010. If a member must resign before completing her term,
it is required that a formal letter be submitted via hand delivery
or email to Ms. Lindsay Han stating the members last day on the
team. No payments made to the team will be refunded.
Length
of Team Membership:
Each year, current Wranglerettes
will be required to reaudition for the team. Girls entering the
5th through 9th grades in the Fall of 2009 are welcome to audition.
Performances
and Team Building:
The Wranglerettes will perform at a variety of locations throughout
the year including the Lewisville Western Day Parade, Coppell's
Holiday and 4th of July Parades, Coppell Youth Basketball games,
Dance For the Planet, St. Anne's Carnival and at various community
service events. Wranglerettes will also compete at local Drill
Team competitions during the months of February and March as well
as perform in the dance studio's
annual Recital held each May.
All
Wranglerettes are expected to attend all performances and competitions
unless at least two weeks prior notice is given to the Director.
The Wranglerettes will have continuous team-building events throughout
the year. All team-building events are optional but participation
is highly encouraged. The cost of team-building events is not
included in the Wranglerettes monthly tuition and an additional
charge will be given for each event.

Parent
Involvement:
As with most activities, when a child makes a team, the
whole family makes the team. Beginning in May 2009, their will
be a booster club of the Wranglerette Drill Team. The group
serves to raise money for necessary items such as competitions,
costumes, choreography, and social events, as well as provide
motivation, spirit, and moral support to the team. It is not
a requirement to join, but at this important time in your daughter's
life it should be a joy to support it. Parental participation
begins right away during the summer in order to make the school
year a success.

About:
-Auditions will start with a short warm up and class
