Texas
Dreams Staff
Since
opening in 2001, Texas Dreams Gymnastics has produced gymnasts
that have excelled at all levels of the sport from AA Champions
at District Championships to State, Regional and National Champions
to NCAA National Champions to USA National Team Members who competed
at the Olympic Trials and earned a spot on the 2008 U.S. Women's
Olympic Training Team.
None
of this would be possible without the dedication and commitment
of our coaching staff. Many of our staff members have been with
Texas Dreams since the gym opened. Others have relocated from
all over the United States to coach at Texas Dreams. It is the
dedication of these professionals and our office staff that make
our program so successful.
Kim
Zmeskal Burdette and Chris Burdette, Directors
Before
starting their own program, Kim Zmeskal Burdette and Chris Burdette
traveled the country to capture the best-of-the-best coaching
practices and they have put them into action as the Directors
of Texas Dreams Gymnastics. Kim and Chris founded this program
on the philosophy of "DREAM" - Dedication Rewards Each Athlete's
Mission.
Kim
Zmeskal was always a big dreamer and her dedication to her sport
is certainly evident in the all of her achievements. Kim was the
1st American gymnast to win a World All-Around Championship. She
is a three-time World Champion, an Olympic medalist, and a USA
Gymnastics Hall of Fame member. She is a Brevet Level USA Gymnastics
Judge - this allows her to judge at the international level.
Chris
is a National Team coach and has coached alongside some of gymnastics'
best coaches, including Bela and Martha Karolyi, and Mary Lee
Tracy. In addition to coaching, Chris is active in USAG committees
and gives clinics and workshops on various aspects of the sport.
Even
though Kim and Chris are in the gym everyday coaching the Dream
Team, which are their Elite and Elite hopeful gymnasts, they stay
very involved in all levels of Texas Dreams Gymnastics. It is
not uncommon to hear one of them congratulating a Level 4 gymnast
on getting a new skill or celebrating that first kip. Chris can
be found playing jokes on his coaches or laughing with some kids.
And Kim stays connected with every optional gymnast by personally
choosing music selections and choreographing each floor routine.
This year, that is 50 plus routines.
One of Kim and Chris' proudest accomplishments is the fact that
every athlete that has graduated high school while training at
Texas Dreams Gymnastics have gone on to get a full NCAA Athletic
Scholarship to a Division I school.
Together
Kim and Chris have produced:
- USA Olympic Team Training Squad Member

- USA Junior & Senior Elite National Team Members
